On Saturday I had a very welcome surprise of my February Birchbox. For some reason it had escaped my mind that this months box would be imminently winging its way to me.
This months box continues the positive theme from January and is encouraging me to Shine Bright Like A Diamond. What’s more, hiding in two of this months boxes is a beautiful diamond necklace – alas I was not one of the lucky ones!
So what did I get inside?
Derm Eyes – Make Up Remover Wipes (sample size, full size £9.50)
I have to admit this is the third time I have had some sort of make up wipe in my Birchbox and they are really not for me. I very rarely use make up wipes but I guess they are good to have just in case.
theBalm – Frat Boy Blush/Shadow (sample size, full size £15.50)
I love receiving samples of make up brands in my box. This is my second theBalm product and is definitely a welcome addition. This is a beautiful rosy pink blush which I will definitely be using.
Spectrum Collections – Tapered Powder Brush (full size £7.99)
This is a beautiful looking brush – I love the pastel colours and the vibrant purple ombré end of the bristles! This will look good nestling next to my other make up brushes on my dressing table. This is a super soft brush and I think I will use it as my highlight brush as I’ve been looking for the perfect tool to get my highlight to pop. Perfect.
Korres – Milk Protein 3-in-1 Cleansing Emulsion (sample size, full size £15)
This is what I love about Birchbox – being able to try higher-end skincare brands before taking the plunge and making an investment. I have heard a lot about Korres but have never actually tried anything by them so this cleanser will be a perfect first step into the brand for me.
Number 4 – Lumiere d’Hiver Super Comb Prep & Protect (sample size, full size £20)
I am not really fussed my haircare and my last few Birchbox’s have included several haircare products which I just haven’t used. This claims to be a great set detangler spray which is something I struggle with so I might actually get some use out of this.
Now for the stand out product in this months box – the UK launch of the Birchbox Love Of Colour (LOC) cosmetic range.
LOC – One and Done Shadow Stick in Perfect Cents (full size £8)
I had the opportunity to choose which colour I would like to have this month – either a silver taupe called Champagne Problems or the copper bronze Perfect Cents.
I opted for Perfect Cents which as you can see from the above swatch is a stunning vibrant copper colour. The formula is super creamy and incredibly pigmented. I used this yesterday and it blends really well with a finger and once it sets it does not budge. No creasing and it stayed in place all day. I am really impressed with these and am definitely interested in exploring more from the range.
