MUOTD: Gwen Stefani Urban Decay Eyeshadow Palette and Firebird Lipstick

I thought I would share with you a great make-up look I created over the weekend. I used a few of the new products I have purchased over the past few weeks but the main look centres around the stunning Urban Decay Gwen Stefani collection. If you missed my Urban Decay Gwen Stefani Eyeshadow Palette Review then check it out here.

I used the following products:

  • Maybelline – Dream Velvet Foundation
  • Collection – Lasting Perfection Concealer
  • Soap & Glory – One Heck Of A Blot Powder
  • Soap & Glory – Solar Powder Bronzer
  • Maybelline – Brow Drama
  • Urban Decay Gwen Stefani – Eyeshadow Palette
  • Benefit – They’re Real Lash Primer
  • Maybelline – Lash Sensational Mascara
  • Urban Decay Gwen Stefani – Firebird Lipstick

This was my first use of the Maybelline Dream Velvet foundation and the jury’s still out. The packaging is very simple but I would have preferred a pump rather than squeezing the product out as I had a lot of wastage.

I bought the lightest shade 01 Natural but the foundation looked quite orange and dark but this disappeared on the skin. The foundation itself has quite a whipped mousse-like texture and does buff really well into the skin.

I used my Real Techniques Buffing Brush to apply the foundation. It covers well and is a buildable medium coverage. This foundation also gives a beautiful breathable soft matte finish which isn’t too drying on my dry skin. I will need to try it a few more times to get a true opinion but my first impressions were mostly positive.

This was also my first use of the much coveted Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer. Now I have to admit I have not used anything from Collection since my young teenage years but since hearing so much about how incredible this budget friendly concealer is I just had to give it a go – I also picked it up on offer for a mere £3.99! Bargain.

I can see why this is such a much loved product it has a creamy and pigmented formula which blends well and stays put. I did find some creasing under my eyes so maybe it’s not for using on my under eye circles but elsewhere it covered well and wasn’t drying.

Now on to the main stars of the show – the Urban Decay Gwen Stefani Collection.

I simply adore the Urban Decay Gwen Stefani eyeshadow palette. Such an awesome collaboration and the colours are just perfect for my pale complexion.

I used the beautiful pale gold shade Bathwater all across my eyelid and buffed the matte brown Anaheim into my crease to create some definition. I used the lightest shimmer shade Blonde underneath my brows and in my inner eye corner to highlight. To finish off the look I pressed some of the beautiful red brown matte shade Punk along my upper and lower lash line. These eyeshadows are super pigmented, soft and blend so easily.

To finish off the look I used the sample I had of the Urban Decay Gwen Stefani Firebird lipstick. This colour is a departure from my usual nude or red toned lipsticks but I just had to give it a go and wow I’m glad I did.

Firebird is an absolutely stunning bright pink creamy lipstick with blue and fuschia subtle shimmer. I am totally in love with this lipstick shade – so much so that I immediately went online and ordered it along with another from the collection!

What do you think of my make-up look? Have you tried any of the products used? Thank you for reading and let me know if you have any comments as I love reading and replying to you all.
