Birchbox – June 2016: The Unveiling

Paradise Found is this months Birchbox theme. I absolutely adore the pale blue with palm trees design – perfect as we head into summer. I am actually going on holiday soon so this is perfect timing for me. I am however going to North Wales so I don’t think I will be seeing many palm trees!

This month also sees a different mechanical design for the box. Inside of the usual lift off lid type of box, this month the inside of the box slides out to reveal the goodies inside. I really like the new design – it will be perfect for easy accessible storage on my dressing table.

So what did I get in this months box?

Monu Professional Skincare – MONUSpa Relaxing Body Oil. Sample size, Full size £29.95.

I have been introduced to Monu Professional Skincare through Birchbox and I have always been really impressed with the quality of the products. This body oil contains sandalwood & rosewood to soothe and hydrate the skin. I get awful shoulder and back ache so I am sure this will prove useful when asking Dave for a massage.

Aïny – Pure Lumière Gommage Puretè Eclat Visage. Sample size, Full size £25.

This is a gentle face scrub containing jojoba micro beads. I do love a good face scrub and this will be perfect for testing out on holiday.

James Read – Overnight Tan Sleep Mask Tan Face. Sample size, full size £25.

This is a fake tan for the face whilst can be applied before bed and washed off in the morning. I have never ever tried a fake tanning product. I have very pale and sun sensitive skin so have never rocked the tanned limbed look. This product does intrigue me, but I am sure it would turn out disastrous. I can remember probably 10 years ago when the body lotions with a hint of self tan first entered the beauty scene. I tried them and thought they were great until my friends pointed out my distinctly orange elbows and knees…..

Percy & Reed – Reassuringly Firm Session Hold Hairspray. Sample size, Full size £12.

This promises to be a firm hold hairspray without the irritating crunch. I haven’t used hairspray in years but now I have much shorter hair which I tend to were down a lot I have been experimenting with different hair styling products. Birchbox is a great way of trying different products without forking out a fortune on something which might not work for you.

Jelly Pong Pong – Paradise Pigment in Cake Pop. Full size £17.95.

The shade Cake Pop looks a very very bright, vibrant red in the pot but It does apply much more sheer. This is a multipurpose product for adding a hint of colour to the cheeks and lips. This will be interesting to try out. I cannot imagine that I would ever pay £17.95 for this rather small pot which claims to be full size though!

Overall I was really happy with this months selection of samples and products. I might even try and fake tan and I’ll report back!

Thank you for reading and do let me know if you have tried any of these products. What did you get in your box? I love reading and replying to your comments.
