Weekly Round-Up: #1.5

Yes I succumbed to the hype and downloaded the Pokemon Go game!

It is very addictive, however I struggle to walk very far so haven’t yet had the full Pokemon experience! I never really understood the Pokemon phenomenon first time round as I was in my late teens but I am intrigued to find out more! Are you playing Pokemon? The rarest Pokemon I have managed to capture is Staryu 😊.

Beauty: Birchbox & Flowers

This week I managed to post my Birchbox unveiling. This months Birchbox was my best yet – I loved every single product! Click the link to check out what I got!

Birchbox – July 2016: The Unveiling

On Wednesday my wonderful boyfriend gave me a very thoughtful surprise.

He is such a sweetheart and because I had had a particularly difficult day he made me smile with some beautiful red roses. Thanks Dave!

Food: Dads 65th Birthday Celebrations

Last Sunday was my dads 65th birthday and to celebrate him and my mum had spent the week on the North Norfolk coast. On Sunday they had booked at table at The Ship Inn in Mundesley for family and friends.

It was a beautiful day and the pub is literally on the cliff edge with a stunning view of the bright blue sea and beyond.

Most people ordered their famous Sunday roast but I am not a massive fan of roast dinners. Instead I went for the classic seaside fish and chips with mushy peas! This was the best fish I had eaten in a long long time. Absolutely delicious.

For dessert I plumped for the brownie and Icecream. It has been a long time since I have indulged in this kind of baked goodness because I had been steering clear of gluten & dairy. Thankfully more recently I have been introducing these back into my diet and I can tolerate small amounts.

This brownie was divine. So gooey and rich. Pure perfection. If you ever find yourself in North Norfolk then I would wholeheartedly recommend paying The Ship Inn a visit.

Art: New Pieces & Stickers

This week I started on my first bespoke piece of art to mark a friends wedding anniversary. She made the suggestion of incorporating a heart into one of my pouring pieces and it worked out fabulously.

The colours will continue to merge whilst it dries and I have very little control over the final look. As this painting has dried the purple colour has taken over and drowned out the other colours. It still looks effective though.

I’ve also been experimenting with string gel this week and completed the piece below which I have named ‘Carnival’.

I love the relief effects which the string gel creates. I’m looking forward to experimenting some more with this medium.

I decided to order some stickers with my ETSY shop logo on. I hope these will be lovely additions to my packaging once an art piece is all wrapped up ready to ship.

  1. Sooo many treat for the eyes…. I swear everytime I read your catch ups I end up feeling starving lol lol How beautiful are those roses *swoon* what a lovely gesture from Dave, that’s super thoughtful indeed! Em, your artwork is phenomenal, I’m genuinely blown away by how talented you are! So colourful but at the same time there’s something minimalist about the way you’ve used the colours, if that makes any sense at all lol. Love it ❤ Hope you have a cheery week ahead huni filled with many more good days than bad *hugs* XXX
