Birchbox – August 2016: The Unveiling

It’s that time of the month again and what a treat from Birchbox. Instead of the usual box this month all the goodies were in an exclusive scuba Birchbag for the Dive In! theme. I absolutely love the neoprene bag in a beautiful muted grey with the hot pink accents. I haven’t blogged about this yet but I am returning to university in September and this bag will be great to hold my pens and make up essentials.

So what did I get in the box?

Anatomicals – The Buff Stuff Body Scrub (sample size, full size £3.99)

I have recently been experimenting with waxing my legs so prepping with a good body scrub is an essential. The Buff Stuff has a lovely zesty grapefruit scent which I love. A great addition to this months box.

Merci Handy – Antibacterial Hand Cleansing Gel in Black Vanilla (full size £2.90)

I do like to keep an alcohol cleansing gel with me but most are very drying on my sensitive skin and do not smell very nice! Step forward Merci Handy – this antibacterial hand cleansing gel which doesn’t dry out the skin and has a beautiful scent of black vanilla. Love it.

Balance Me Congested Skin Serum (sample size, full size £16)

I am a huge fan of Balance Me products and my skin is very prone to break outs so I have been wanting to give this a try for a while. I was so excited to see this nestling in my bag – a great way to try a product before investing in the full size. This Congested Skin Serum promises to soothe and rebalance congested skin. This can be used either as a targetted spot treatment or it can be used more generously to break-out prone areas.

Marcelle – Waterproof Eyeliner in Mulberry (sample size, full size £10.50)

I have been looking for a colourful smudge proof eyeliner as I have very sensitive eyes which water at the slightest thing, so much so that I avoid eyeliner altogether. I have only used this once but I am super impressed with the longevity. The colour is a stunning deep purple which compliments my hazel eyes beautifully. You do have a bit of play time with the eyeliner to smudge out if you want before it sets. However once it has set down it is not going anywhere. Great product.

Philip Kingsley – One More Day Dry Shampoo (sample size, full size £14.50)

I have recently been having a moment with dry shampoo as for years I used to wash my hair EVERY DAY! I have been experimenting with a range of different dry shampoos and this one from Philip Kingsley is brilliant. It has a lovely fresh scent and gets my hair clean and adds a great texture ready for styling. Love it.

English Laundry – Signature For Her Eau de Parfum (sample size, full size £60)

I am sure I have had this perfume sample before. It is a lovely floral scent which is perfect for evening.

Another great month from Birchbox! I will still be subscribing.

  1. I really liked this month’s box too, got almost exactly same as you. Love the gel and not even mad as I got it from another box last month. They do tend to go for the same brands, it must be some sort of promo wave for the brands that want to be involved. But I love it so yay! xxx
