What I got for Christmas: Beauty, Make-Up and more

Christmas seems like an age ago but it has only been a couple of weeks. I had a wonderful time over Christmas spending quality time with family and friends, and of I received some incredible presents, some of which I thought I would share with you.

So what did I get for Christmas?

Maggs London – Cherish 2 Make Up Bag

Dave surprised me with another make up by from Maggs London. I love the Michalaks family YouTube channel and when I saw that Hannah was making another limited edition make up bag, this time larger and with a beautiful rose gold zip I just had to have it. Thanks Dave!

Japanese Pikachu

My brother has been living and working in China for the past couple of years and when he took a holiday to Japan he bought me this limited edition Pikachu from the Pokémon Go Centre in Tokyo. He very rarely gives presents so for me to receive this all the way from Japan (via China) was such a wonderful surprise. Love it.

Wooden light up letter E

This was a wonderfully thoughtful gift from Dave’s parents. This is a beautifully crafted wooden letter E which has some tiny LED lights. It’s a perfect addition for my study. Absolutely love it.

Now to the generous beauty bits!

OSKIA – Renaissance Cleansing Gel

Now I must confess, I chose all of these beauty bits to take advantage of the SpaceNK offer in December so I could get my hands on their beauty advent calendar!

This cleanser however has not disappointed. It does have a rather hefty price tag… of £29 and I am not sure whether I can justify spending this much on a cleanser on a regular basis, regardless of how fabulous it is. This Renaissance Cleansing Gel from OSKIA has received a lot of love in the beauty blogging world (I am blaming you Lily Pebbles & The Anna Edit!). But wow I can appreciate why. This is such a luxurious cleanser. The gel cleanser transforms into an oil once massaged onto the face and effortlessly melts away any scraps of make up and leaves your skin feeling so fresh, clean and wonderfully nourished. Since using this twice a day my skin has looked so radiant, it will be a sad day when I get to the bottom of this bottle!

NARS – Sheer Glow Foundation

This is another blogger favourite and I decided to finally take the plunge and try a high-end, expensive foundation. This is my first experience of a high end foundation and yes I can see and feel the difference from my usual Bourjois drug store favourites.

This is a great foundation. A little goes a long way as the coverage is a lot higher than I am used to. As has been commented on before ‘Sheer Glow’ is misleading as it is a medium coverage foundation which is very buildable, so not very sheer. It does however give a radiant glow to the skin but without being too dewy. A firm favourite.

BECCA – Backlight Priming Filter

I received a sample of this is a TILI box and I just had to get the full size. This is a stunning primer which not only helps my make up last all day but also gives my complexion an often much needed radiance boost. What more can I say? This is a must have!

Lily England – Rose Gold Eyelash Curlers

Now these were another sneaky surprise from my very thoughtful boyfriend Dave. He listens and pays attention well to my beauty needs and he knew I was looking for a good set of eyelash curlers and was apprehensive in investing in the Shu Eumera ones. These are an unknown brand to me but I love the colour and the feel of them. They create a lovely and long lasting curl and are a great addition to my make up bag. Thanks Dave.

NARS – Radiant Creamy Concealer

Another blogger favourite and my first experience of a high end concealer. The coverage is good but it still creases under my eyes…. I don’t know if I will ever find the holy grail of non-creasing under eye concealer, or maybe it’s my age but even when I set with pressed or loose powder it still creases! This is a lovely concealer and a little goes a long way so it will last ages, but I don’t think I will invest in another.

Hourglass – Ambient Lighting Edit – Surreal Light

I was so looking forward to getting my hands on this stunning palette and I am not disappointed. This is again, a first time for me, having never tried anything from the iconic brand Hourglass but I am blown away.

These powders live up the hype and are truly magical. The finishing powder is so light weight and sets your base flawlessly and adds a very subtle healthy glow. Magical. I also love the two blush shades and am in love with the bronzer and highlighter. An expensive palette but this will last pretty much forever!

I do feel throughly spoiled by these wonderful presents. Thanks for reading and I hope you have enjoyed. Do let me know what you got for Christmas and your experiences of any of these, or recommendations. I love reading and replying to your comments.
